Itinerary

Marco Polo is famous throughout the world - other explorers before him changed the geography of the world; Marco Polo changed its history... and Korčula was his hometown! This is undoubtedly why the island of Korčula holds such a privileged position among the Croatian islands. It's on Korcula that you find more legends, tales and monuments than anywhere else. The people of Korcula were famous stonemasons, shipbuilders and seafarers so left their mark all over the world, but they saved their best works for their own city. Walk through its narrow streets, see beautiful churches and magnificent palaces in one of the best preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean.

After sightseeing there is free time for lunch or even swimming. On the return trip a stop will be made in one of the well known wine cellars of the Pelješac peninsula to sample some of the excellent local wine.

  • Included: transportation, guide, wine tasting
  • Price: £ 52 pp

Why not take the opportunity to visit a different country during your stay in Dubrovnik?

Montenegro is a small European country that boasts big things: the Bay of Kotor, Europe's southernmost fjord; Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site; and the walled seaside town of Budva. You'll have some free time to explore Kotor and Budva on your own and then enjoy a ferry ride across the Bay of Kotor on your way back to Dubrovnik.

This is a city of poetry, a city of stone and sleepy, narrow winding streets. It is where the traveller from the North feels the first breaths of Mediterranean air imbued with scents of citrus and the sea and the traveller from the South takes his first glimpse of the continent beyond. The town is renowned for its houses and monuments. You'll see the Old Bazaar, the Turkish House and one of the many old Mosques. After a guided tour of the town enjoy some free time to have a stroll, perhaps browse the many craft shops or maybe have lunch in one of the picturesque local restaurants.

  • Important Note: ID or passport obligatory.
  • Included: transportation, guide, local guide in Mostar, entrance fees
  • Price: £ 52 pp

Beaches, clear waters and gorgeous mountains plunging into the sea will greet you upon your arrival in the Gulf of Kotor. The bays of Risan and Kotor are the earliest inhabited areas with evidences of civilization dating from Illyrian, Roman and early Christian periods.

You'll visit the baroque seaside town of Perast and a short boat ride from town will take you to one of the two islets in the Bay to visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks which houses one of the finest collections of wall paintings in this part of Europe. In the UNESCO protected town of Kotor enjoy a guided tour through one of the best preserved medieval walled cities on the Adriatic. And finally, make your own memories during your free time in Kotor!

Međugorje is a special place, for in 1981 it is believed that Our Lady appeared in front of a group of children. Thanks to this apparition this simple village now attracts pilgrims from all over the world and is now one of the biggest prayer centres in the world. Over the years many have said that they found peace and faith here. You will have the opportunity to visit Apparition Hill and attend Mass in the local church.

Some of the best views of Dubrovnik are from the sea and the historical Galleon is certainly the best stage for such scenery. During this cruise you'll see the three most beautiful islands in the Dubrovnik archipelago – Koločep, Lopud and Šipan commonly known as the Elafiti islands. The legend of the islands is hidden in its name - the ancient Greeks used to hunt deer and named these islands Deer Islands.

You'll see gardens with orange and lemon trees, charming villages with elegant manor houses, smaller homes once belonging to the seafarers and little churches. Visit all the three Elaphite islands and enjoy a lunch of grilled fish and wine whilst being entertained by local musicians.

  • Note: sportswear recommended
  • Included: transportation, guide, live music, lunch, glass of wine
  • Price: £ 52 pp

This boat excursion serves up the essence of Adriatic living: taut sails, a touch of wind on your face, blue seas and beautiful vistas. Relaxation as it should be. If you asked a local how to spend a perfect day around Dubrovnik, it would most certainly involve some swimming. Throw in the historic galleon "Tirena", a replica from the golden times of Dubrovnik Republic, and you've got yourself a day of fun, history and true relaxation.

You’ll head out to the Elaphite Islands, a green and scenic archipelago northwest of Dubrovnik. Enjoy ample free time on island of Lopud. Enjoy picturesque bays, sandy beaches; cake, drinks and fruits will be served on the boat. Altogether, have yourself a very local experience.
