Itinerary

A private driver will be waiting for you at Keflavik airport to bring you to your accommodation in Reykjavik.

Depending on your flight time, your Iceland adventure could begin at the famous Blue Lagoon Spa (premium entrance included) with a swim and relaxation in the geothermal warm water. If you don’t have time for this stop today you'll have the chance to visit on your last day.

Stay in Reykjavik.

Driving Distance

Approximately 50 km (30 miles)

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Thingvellir National Park.  Thingvellir is a highly interesting place from both a geological and historical point of view. Here you can see the effects of the tectonic plate movements which have opened up various cracks and fissures in the earth crust; the Icelandic Parliament was founded here in the 10th century.

Continue towards the area known as the "Golden Circle" with a visit to the famous geothermal site of Geysir where the Strokkur hot spring ejects its water column high into the air every 5–10 minutes. Numerous other small springs boil and bubble all around.

Gulfoss is only a short drive from here, a spectacular waterfall which Icelanders refer to as the “golden” waterfall.

Before checking in to your hotel you'll have time to try out the geothermal waters by bathing in one of the many natural hot springs.

Stay in Hvolsvollur area

Driving Distance

Approximately 240 km (149 miles)

Today head towards Iceland’s south region and you'll go all the way to the small village of Vík where your Secret Ice Cave adventure will take place. On the way to Vík you'll stop at different places like Seljalandsfoss, a small but picturesque waterfall, and Skogar, where you'll see the Skogarfoss Waterfall, one of the highest in Iceland.

Vík village is extremely pretty with a lovely red-roofed church. From the village you can see the Reynisdrangar basalt pillars rising out of the North Atlantic. Local legend says that these are three trolls who stayed out too late and were frozen by the morning sun. Visit the ice cave at Myrdalsjökull. Take a stroll on the magnificent black sandy beach, the best in Iceland, before returning to Reykjavík.

Stay in Reykjavik

Driving Distance
Approximately 200 km (124 miles)

Time to leave Iceland, after your private journey through one of the world’s most unique and picturesque landscapes.  Your driver will take you back to Keflavík Airport for your flight back home.

Depending on your flight time you may be able to enjoy your last day strolling around Reykjavík or relax at the Blue Lagoon Spa if you didn't do this on your first day. Or, even better, consider booking an extra night in Reykjavík to really give yourself time to experience Iceland’s capital city.
