As the road begins to change direction from east to north we find Kassiopi, once a sleepy fishing village and now a thriving harbour resort in a traditional setting. Kassiopi has everything to offer along its main street: well-stocked supermarkets, bakeries, bars, craft and souvenir shops (the lace making here is legendary), restaurants and tavernas. More eateries and cafes can be found dotted around the picturesque harbour.
All the beaches here are rocky or pebbly, and the main one, Kalamionas, is a Blue Flag beach. Along the coast there are smaller, secluded beaches to explore. Kassiopi appeals to many - there's a wealth of shops and bars for those who prefer a lively holiday; there are some lovely walks nearby for those who prefer a quieter break.
