About Palazzo Vecchio
Palazzo Vecchio is a small, romantic and beautifully furnished hotel in Rethymnon. It is one of the oldest mansions in Rethymnon, a shining example of Venetian urban architecture. The hotel consists of 23 Junior Suites, Suites and Maisonettes and has been restored with skill, taste and respect to its history.
Palazzo Vecchio was built in the 15th century, when the Venetians were on Crete. It used to be the mansion of the powerful Lord of Rethymnon, who had large properties in the countryside as well as his main residence in Rethymnon, to protect himself from the locals as well as to offer his military and civil services to the Venetian Administration.
Standard room facilities include a private bathroom with hairdryer, kitchenette with fridge, air-conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, Wifi internet access and a balcony or terrace.
The hotel has the benefit of a “Roman Style” swimming pool which is quite rare in old properties in the city.
"ideally situated city centre hotel with character. We had a ground floor suite near entrance on ground floor which was no problem. Parking opposite in public car park, hotel has an automatic arrangement with car park so no extra charge for parking."

"The Palazzo Vecchio, once we found it, was delightful, with an adequate breakfast, including at least a couple of cooked options with the cold buffet. We were on the ground floor, so it felt as if we only had to go into another 'room', ie the courtyard, to enjoy it."
