About Croatia Hotel
The Hotel Croatia is located in the town of Hvar, just 10-15 minutes walk from the old centre and the harbour. It is situated looking down to the sea in a beautiful garden of pine trees in one of the most beautiful locations on Hvar - Majerovica bay. It was originally built in 1936 and then reconstructed in the late 1990s; rooms were also upgraded in 2012 & 2015. The Hotel Croatia is a family-run hotel.
Accommodation: there are 22 double rooms with the possibility of adding the third bed, most of which are overlooking the sea. There are also 6 family rooms (family rooms contain 1 double and 1 twin in separate rooms with one bathroom). Central heating is in all rooms, so the hotel can be opened throughout the year. All rooms are equipped with bathroom/toilet, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, heating and air conditioning. Approximately half of rooms have a balcony which can be requested at no extra cost if available.
Facilities: on the ground floor of the hotel there is a restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. On the small terrace with a view over to the Pakleni islands, drinks and meals are served. Orders of various excellent meat and fish dishes can be made 'a la carte' all day, with premium Dalmatian and other wines. For the guests on half-board there is breakfast-buffet, salad-buffet and 4 menus for dinner. All food is controlled origin, i.e. from local producers. There is also a gym and sauna on teh ground floor which is free for guests to use.
There is parking in the garden at the Hotel Croatia, access to the hotel is via the back road which passes around the ancient castle. The garden is very pleasant and relaxing and a gentle path takes you down to the sea giving you a real feeling of staying in a 1930s villa which could at any time come to life in the plot of an Agatha Christie novel.
"Thoroughly enjoyed! All went like clockwork! Hotels were better than we expected too. Thanks to all your team.."

"The entire holiday was wonderful, more than we had imagined. Croatia is a very beautiful country. Every town/city we visited was a picture postcard. One of our memorable events was taking the ferry from Trogir to the small island of Drvenik Veli. After walking in the sun for 1 hour to a fish restaurant we came to the end of the road and a small building which turned out to be a private residence. We had walked in the wrong direction. The owner of the home turned out to be a journalist from Germany. We had a great visit with her, swam in the Adriatic at her private beach and then she drove us to the restaurant that would have been a 2 hour walk in the sun. It was a great afternoon, wonderful food and interesting company. Don't hesitate to visit the smaller islands on day trips. Learn about the history of each place through walking tours. Relax and enjoy the coast and swimming in the Adriatic. The island of Mljet is definitely worth a visit. We talked to many local people and bought their goods, such as fresh figs, sugared almonds and homemade Grappa. We also went to Konoba restaurants wherever we could to support family businesses. Excellent. We highly recommend this type of holiday to anyone travelling to Croatia. Driving is easy. Don't hesitate to do it. It is breath taking to drive along the coast."

"Thank you for organising a brilliant holiday for us. We returned half an hour early on Easy Jet yesterday. The 5 hotels were excellent, car parking worked well and we were bowled over by Croatia in general. It's a shame so much of Zadar is pst ww2, but what an excellent hotel! Luxe in Split was a great choice, modern, chic and well positioned. We loved Trogir. Hvar was the highlight, once we mastered the kerb at the car park which was a story in itself! The drive across Hvar was great fun and the mountain road is brand new. The ferry q was 4 hours .... After Mali Ston, it will be a while before I can eat more mussels and oysters, but what a great evening we had. We drove thru Bosnia, as we had eaten our day in the ferry q, which was not an issue at all. Dubrovnik was sensational and the Bellevue great. Nice people, great food, lift to the beach, great swimming, friendly taxis. So superior to Portugal and Spain and the wines were delicious. Even the red."

"We returned from Croatia yesterday and I wanted to email and thank you for organising us such a fantastic holiday. Everything ran like clockwork. We had great taxi drivers who showered us with knowledge and information, we found all the hotels with no trouble, we absolutely loved every place we visited and marvelled how each one was different from the previous, we found the staff at most hotels were incredibly friendly and helpful and the sun shone every day! I would just like to mention the staff at Villa Tina and the reception staff at Hotel Mediteran were particularly charming and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going, what buses to catch, where we could park the car for free etc. We were amazed at our fabulous room with a brilliant view in Hotel Concordia. This was our favourite stopover mainly because of the position. The only blip was having to queue for five and a half hours for the ferry from Hvar to the mainland in the blistering heat. Apparently this is normal during high season but it meant we had very little time at Mali Ston which was such a shame as it was so gorgeous. We would most certainly use your company again. You have got the formula spot on and your attention to detail was excellent. We felt very well supported. I have already recommended you to friends and sometime in the future we will try out Morocco. Many thanks once again."

"Hotel Astoria in Zagreb - Good; Miric Inn in Plitvice - Good; Hotel Mediteran in Zadar - Excellent.... other hotels - Skradinski Buk, Krka - good location but awful room. Hotel Palace Derossi - very friendly, good location, difficult parking, breakfast not so good. Hotel Croatia, Hvar - fantastic location. Hotel Kriva Cuprije I - difficult parking, great hotel and really friendly staff. Hotel Lero - comfortable and food choice very good. Fantastic choice of locations to visit in Croatia, and well organised."

"With respect to Hotel Croatia, we too had read the trip advisor reviews and were a little anxious in advance but I can honestly say it was a joy to stay in. I would go so far as to say that I would not have wanted to be anywhere else as the location is perfect, set in beautiful gardens, adjacent to the sea, a ten minute walk along the coast to town and run by great staff (far better that the 4-star Butlins look-alike next door). The hotel and outdoor areas had clearly been renovated over the winter (some rooms were still being decorated) so maybe this has helped although I never believe trip advisor reviews."

"- just one comment about the Hotel Croatia (Hvar) - good position and hotel rooms good but please could the staff manage a few manners or even a smile would be good. Compared to the other hotels they really were not the best!!!"

"Received excellent service and advice from Andy and Dawn Scase at Rediscover the World on this trip. You may quote us! Any queries we made from Australia to Andy and Dawn in England were answered promptly and efficiently. Able to fit in an extra person at short notice. Trip advice on sites, hotels, detours etc resulted in a well paced and rewarding experience in Croatia."

"A short note to thank you for helping organise our holiday. We had a great time and thought Croatia was fantastic. Having good weather obviously helps and for us it was superb with the temperatures ideal – mid to high 20’s. I think we went for one too many changes of hotel on the ‘touring’ section ie we should have spent an extra day probably in Hvar and possibly Zadar. The car hire was excellent and worked very well for the pick-up and drop-off. The hotels you arranged for us worked out well and, overall, we were pleased with them; perhaps the Marco Polo was a little disappointing but that was more to do with lugging our heavy cases around to the room than the actual quality."
