The Tomboctou hotel offers an ideal starting point for excursions around Tineghir. As well as experiencing the weekly souk of Tineghir you will no doubt be keen to take a walk in the palm grove and through the famous Todra Gorge and discover this southern point of the High Atlas and its many kasbahs. The Tomboctou is a converted kasbah (originally built in 1944) and offers more traditional character than the other hotels in Tineghir.
All 17 rooms and junior suites have en suite shower, telephone, heating and ceiling fans (some have a/c) and are named after the staging posts from the famous Sahara caravan route. They offer two family rooms, equipped with a double bed and two single beds, with possibility of adding an extra bed, also equipped with a large bathroom. These rooms are the ideal place for a long stay to discover the region of Tineghir.
Suites: two Junior Suites equipped with two bedrooms, a large bed and lots of windows, air conditioning and large bath. Ambassador Suite is larger again and has use of a small private garden.
TV lounge, restaurant serving Spanish and Moroccan meals in the courtyard and in a traditional tent in the grounds next to the swimming pool (4 x 6 m; depth of 1.2 to 1.6 m; pool for children - 60 cm). Free car parking, porter for luggage, laundry service. Trekking and other desert excursions available to book locally (mountain bike, camel, 4WD).
