This popular tour gives you the opportunity to observe the strking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Your expert guide will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 - there will be a short stop here.
Pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma).
Next to the Acropolis where you will visit the museum and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athenian Nike, the Erechteion and finally the 'harmony between matter and spirit', the monument that 'puts order in the mind', the Parthenon.
After this visit you'll visit the new Acropolis Museum, located on the ancient road that led up to the "sacred rock" in classical times, housing every artifact found on the rock and beneath, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. A walk through its galleries is a walk through history – between the masterpieces of the Archaic and Classical periods, but also in the ancient neighbourhoods of Athens.
