This classical tour offers an elegant introduction to some of the most celebrated sites on the Greek mainland. Your adventure begins with a scenic crossing of the Corinth Canal—an unforgettable moment, especially if a ship happens to be navigating its narrow passage below.

In the Argolis region, you’ll discover the world-renowned theatre of Epidavros, famed for its remarkable acoustics and its role in the Athens Festival each summer; Mycenae, brought to light in the 19th century and forever linked with Agamemnon and the legends of Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey; Nafplion, an elegant seaside town watched over by the commanding Palamidi Fortress.

Olympia, set in one of Greece’s most picturesque valleys, is a perennial favourite thanks to its deep connection with the modern Olympic Games. The archaeological site is extensive, atmospheric, and wonderfully evocative.

Your tour concludes in Delphi, dramatically positioned on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Once considered the centre of the ancient world, Delphi is famed for its oracle, whose enigmatic prophecies shaped the course of history.

Highlights

Itinerary

Your day begins with an early morning drive into the Argolis region, crossing the dramatic Corinth Canal en route. Your first visit is to the ancient theatre of Epidavros, celebrated for possessing some of the finest acoustics in the world. Continue to graceful Nafplion—often described as Greece’s most romantic town—before heading to historic Mycenae, legendary home of Agamemnon.

Later, travel through the heart of the Peloponnese, passing the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis as you make your way to Olympia, the revered birthplace of the Olympic Games.

Dinner and an overnight stay in Olympia.

Begin your morning with a guided visit to the archaeological site of Olympia, home to the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the superb Archaeological Museum, which houses some of Greece’s most treasured classical masterpieces.

Your journey then continues across the fertile plains of Eliad and Achaia to Rion, where you’ll cross the shimmering Corinthian Bay via its magnificent suspension bridge—an architectural landmark in its own right. Travel onwards past the charming coastal towns of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea before reaching Delphi, the ancient sanctuary once believed to be the very centre of the universe.

Dinner and overnight stay in Delphi.

This morning, explore the archaeological site and museum of Delphi, delving deeper into the sanctuary once revered as the heart of the ancient world. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to wander at your leisure—perhaps taking in the views, browsing local artisans’ shops, or simply savouring the atmosphere of this remarkable place.

Your return journey to Athens takes you through the charming mountain village of Arachova, famed for its beautifully crafted rugs and colourful textiles. Continue via Levadia and historic Thebes, arriving back in Athens in the early evening.
