A Ride through history.
There is no better way to get around the area of the Krka River National Park than cycling. This biking route will lead you through Croatian history while enjoying a landscape of forests, hills and monuments. The first destination is Remetići on the shores of Visovac Lake where you will leave your bikes and board a panoramic boat that will take you to the small island of Visovac. On the island there is a Franciscan monastery dating back to 1445, but next to the monastery, you will also visit the church and the museum where you'll hear something about the rich and turbulent history of this area. After leaving the island, you will have a short ride to a beach where you can have a picnic break, rest or swim in the lake before continuing the trip. The next stage of the trip will take you to the most visited and the most popular part of the National Park – Skradinski Buk waterfall, an impressive sight at 44m high. Swimming underneath it will be an experience you will never forget. If you would like to know more, there is an educational trail around the waterfall where you can visit the ethno village Skradinski Buk and see first-hand how the locals learned to use the power of water to their benefit. Finish the trip with a ride from the Skradinski Buk waterfall to Skradin all along the Krka River whose beauty will leave you breathless once again.
