About Natural Wonders of Romania

Experience the natural beauty of Romania's regions - Transylvania, Moldavia and the Danube Delta. [Small Group Tour or Private Journey].

START / FINISH - Bucharest

Activity code: RONAT01

Duration: 11 Days / 10 nights

This small group guided tour combines some of the cultural and historic highlights of Romania with the beauty of its nature. Join us for a fabulous visit of the unique Danube Delta landscape, encounter bears in the Carpathian Mountains and enjoy some magical walks in the wild countryside of Transylvania and Moldavia. This is a holiday that will leave you wanting to see much more and wondering, perhaps, why you had not experienced Romania before. A holiday in Romania conjures up a heady mix of culture, history, natural beauty, legends, adventure, traditional food and fun…. come and see, taste, hear and rediscover Romania!

Romania is one of the most unexplored parts of Europe, tucked away in a remote corner where few visit and about which fewer still have much knowledge, beyond the connection with the myth of Dracula. Much of Romania is virtually untouched countryside and follows a way of life that has long been extinguished, or at the very least diminished into very small pockets, elsewhere in Europe; the centuries old folklore and traditions still thrive in its picturesque villages.

This tour, with our superb Romanian guide, takes you back in time, allows you to meet some of the friendliest people in Europe, many following traditional ways of life untouched by the modern world. Whilst you will cover a lot of the country the tour is relatively relaxed in its pace, helped by the small numbers and the knowledge, experience and flexibility of your guide. It is suitable for all ages and most ability types; much of the sightseeing is done on foot but we are able to use the transport effectively for those less able to walk long distances and there is time available for others who prefer to explore a little more.

"We would certainly recommend you to friends and hope to do another tour with you in the future."

L Hellen, UK, June, 2019

"Linda and I wanted to thank you both very much for arranging our recent holiday in Romania, we had a great time. Wonderful scenery, painted monasteries, fortified churches, historic castles, varied wildlife and a fantastic guide able to explain everything. What's not to like. Alexandra was undoubtedly the star of the show - excellent English and extremely knowledgeable on all matters. The accommodation was varied, all good and very much to our liking - the culinary experience, though, did have the effect of increasing our weight! Thank you both so much for all your help and advice, both before and during the trip ... we really did appreciate all that you did for us. We wish you and Rediscover the World every success and we hope to travel with you again in the not too distant future."

S Seaton, UK, May 2019

"All aspects of the trip were very competently and professionally organised by your agency. We also need to say that Mihai, our driver/guide, was really excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the history, the people, and the wildlife of Romania, and he kept us fully informed on all of that. In addition his driving was completely safe and professionally competent. Really, we could not have had a better guide."

A Veilands, Australia, June 2018

"Romania is rich in history, culture and natural beauty. It offers a great variety of landscapes, experiences and activities. The accommodation was varied, but largely in well chosen guesthouses where the food was superb. Doina, our guide, was informative, friendly and extremely helpful. She made sure that we were well looked after and wanted for nothing. Overall, the Natural Wonders of Romania tour was an absolute delight."

H Rushton, Australia, July, 2017

"Romania is a beautiful fascinating country and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There was only the two of us on the tour, so we were able to choose what we wanted to do...which was actually quite different from our planned itinerary and we were delighted with the changes. Alexandra, our guide, was a delight, she was very knowledgable on all aspects of her country, full of fun and an excellent driver. we would highly recommend a holiday to Romania."
