About Trekking in Morocco
Rediscover the World's treks range from easy day hikes in the beautiful lower areas of the High Atlas to longer and more challenging treks through the Toubkal Massif, Tichka Plateau and other regions within Morocco's fabulous mountains.
For two decades Rediscover the World has been offering exciting and comprehensive treks in the High Atlas. All our treks are designed to be available as stand-alone, individual bookings or to be part of a longer tailor-made holiday in Morocco. This total freedom of choice means they are very popular with those who wish to enjoy the incredible beauty of the Atlas Mountains at their chosen pace and for the duration and route of their choice.
Each trek can be booked to start on any date and for any number of people to suit your own holiday arrangements. Whether you wish to take a gentle hike in the Immouzer area (Paradise Valley) or a fully-guided and supported trek to the summit of Mount Toubkal (North Africa's highest peak at 4167m) we will be pleased to arrange everything for you.
Our trekking organiser (Andy in the UK) and our Head Guide (Houcine in Imlil) have many, many years of experience of arranging treks in Morocco. The itineraries we offer are fully thought through, tried and tested - timings are based on a small party and allow for amendments and short cuts if necessary for any reason. We have a wealth of experience in these areas so feel free to contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
We have had considerable experience in arranging group treks in Morocco and can assist with booking flights, hotels or riads and any additional transport or sightseeing as required.
Private treks of the High Atlas for all abilities can be arranged for any duration. The final cost will depend upon the number of people travelling in your individual party, the duration, transfers to/from trailheads and your pre/post trek accommodation. All our treks include private transfers from one of the main centres such as Marrakech, Agadir, Taroudant and Fez. Please contact us to arrange your accommodation - we are experts for small hotels and riads across Morocco.
We look forward to being of service.

"We really enjoyed our trip to Morocco, the connections, accommodation and guides were all meeting or exceeding our expectations. All connections and bookings went as planned or otherwise advised on the trip. In particular we must give praise to our guide from Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains- Mohamed (?) would have to be one of the best in the business, a genuine man with a lovely family, great companion and excellent skills. His awareness of the surrounding conditions and our abilities ensured that we were always safe but also able to enjoy the experiences. On our first meeting it was the feast of Eid, which meant that original plans needed to be adjusted. Mohamed arranged for his brother to collect us and take us to his mothers house for a share of the traditional feast of lamb, a remarkable day for us. We will in future and have already recommended your group to others. Thank you from both of us."

"our holiday in Morocco was brilliant - the 2 hotels you set us up with were both fantastic, particularly the second which was pretty special and the perfect thing after 4 days trekking. The trek was also brilliant and we were stunned by the scenery - our guide Mahumad (please excuse my spelling) deserves particular credit for striking the right balance overall and making the whole thing work very smoothly - if possible, please pass on our sentiments to him, or whoever employs him directly - he is a talented chap and deserves the credit. our muleteer was also excellent and the food was generous and spot on every time. - we'd recommend this package to anyone."

"We were very pleased with the accommodation in all parts of the trip. Riad Daria is truly lovely and the service there is top notch! The local guide for trekking was wonderful; super knowledgeable about his country and the routes, very flexible when my husband decided he was not up to the Toubkal summit, and extremely personable with our 12 year-old son. He also took us to a local market in the countryside on the way to the trekking start point, which gave us an insiders view of rural Morocco and the lifestyle. The mule driver/cook was also amazing. We never expected such well-prepared lunches on the trail and dinners in gites and he was just a lovely person to be around. Only one slight glitch in that we phoned local agent to confirm time for pick-up in Essaouira for Marrakech airport transfer. We agreed on 13h but she sent the driver a text to arrive at 13h25. Was not a problem as the route was fairly open but we were nervous when the driver did not at the time that we had agreed upon the day before. We arrived at the airport in plenty of time."

"The two walks were very good - our guide managed to find interesting routes staying out of the worst of the snow. Even so, it was quite difficult as in places the snow was a foot deep and we weren't really equipped for it. The sun shone though and it was amazing scenery all round. We had lunch in his house on the first day and met his family which was fun. The second day we walked up to the shrine and lunched in the sun and snow. We had a traditional hamam on our last evening which was a whole new experience and very welcome."

"The holiday was great and all that we wanted and expected. The logistics worked a wonder and very efficiently. With respect to the guides both were excellent; very knowledgeable and spoke great English so overall a success. The desert camp – was brilliant…. We were expecting rudimentary and basic but it was very comfortable and exceeded our expectation. Having the different guides for the different elements of the holiday also worked well."

"Our accommodations in Marrakech were superior, and the mountain trek to the Azzaden Trekking Lodge and back to the Kasbah du Toubkal was first-rate. In addition, all dealings with Rediscover the World UK were exceptional."

"Really superb and we all enjoyed this. Great scenery and a fantastic experience. We stayed the first night at a Berber Gites d’Etape in Ait Aissa, camped at the Azib n’Tzikert and again at the Toubkal Refuge and then spent the last night at the Refuge itself. The Gites d’Etape was fantastic – clean, comfortable and a very nice place to stay. The camping was fine and as expected. The Refuge was also clean and comfortable and as good as any bunkhouse I’ve stayed in in the UK. Their food looked very good and the staff were very helpful (even as non-residents). Our guide (Abdul) was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. He was a very clever leader, getting the best out of everyone and made a big contribution to ensuring one of our group made it to the summit. The muleteer team (Larson, Hamed and Hassan) were equally delightful, warm and encouraging. We were touched at the care they put into preparing the food and generally looking after us. The food was of an incredibly high standard and exceptional taking into account how it was prepared. They made a great team."
