About Hora cu Brazi

Guest House Hora cu Brazi is located in the foothills of Piatra Craiului Mountains National Park at Zarnesti. This traditional guest house with modern facilities offers an excellent Romanian restaurant with a very high proportion of food and drink produced on site or from the village. In our opinion this accommodation is the best place to stay in the Brasov, Bran corner of Transylvania as it is not only away from the crowds and traffic but offers an incredibly friendly and professional service together with an ideal location for sightseeing and activities.

An ideal base from which to visit some of the following: Bran Castle (3.9 miles),   Libearty Bear Sanctuary (5 miles), Valea Cetății Cave (9.4 miles).

Accommodation

All rooms have a balcony with views of the surrounding hills, a seating area, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with cable channels and a bathroom with fluffy towels, free toiletries and hairdryer. Rooms have heating and air-conditioning and are a good size (20sq m) so an extra bed (children under 16 years) does not affect the comfort within the room.

Facilities

Romanian specialities are served throughout the day and all meals can be enjoyed out on the terraces (front & back) in the good weather. The restaurant is furnished and decorated so as to create the ambiance of an old, but elegant, inn.

Breakfast is buffet style and includes hot dishes as well as cold. For lunch you can choose a la carte - e.g bean soup with smoked meat cooked with tarragon (Transylvanian style), bulz peasant polenta and smoked sheep cheese dumplings. Dinner is served as a buffet but can also be a la carte if the number of guests overall is smaller.

There is a children’s playground in the large garden plus an indoor play area with pool table, darts board and other games (also includes home cinema and video console plus toys for younger children). Guests can hire quad bikes, which are a great way to explore the area; Bran Castle is a 10-minute drive away while the entrance to the national park, where you find hiking & mountain bike trails, is just a minute away by car.

You can, of course, simply relax in these ideal surroundings and take in the fresh air - there are sun beds, umbrellas, and a terrace.

Within the family farm there are three friendly ponies ready for little ones to ride; they can also organise carriage rides pulled by the miniature ponies which can be turned to a sleigh ride in winter. Hiking trails, skiing, mountain biking and much more is available to arrange in advance or via reception. A small shop is a few metres up the road and there are cafes and other shops, banks, etc. in the village centre.

Free parking on site, free wi-fi.
