About Davvi Arctic Lodge
The Davvi Arctic Lodge is a charming, simple property set on a quiet, secluded hillside in the border village of Karesuando.
The restaurant, its circular design inspired by the shape of a Sami reindeer corral, is the hotel’s centrepiece and from here you can enjoy panoramic views over the snow-covered hillside to Swedish Lapland located just across the border.
Facilities include bar, reception, restaurant, small gift shop.
You are spoilt for choice of accommodation at the Davvi Arctic Lodge. You can stay in the Arctic Lodge rooms, in timber cabins in the grounds or in suites at the Fell House, a converted border guard and customs house 150m away from the main hotel. Luxury accommodation is available at the Aurora House.
The Davvi Arctic Lodge rooms are set on two floors in a wing that extends from the main building. The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable. Double/twin rooms sleep two, plus one additional person on an extra bed (usually a convertible chair). The family rooms sleep four to five, with one double bed or two single beds, a sofa bed for up to two children (or one adult), and an extra chair bed or put me up bed available for a third child. All rooms are en suite, although many of the bathrooms (shower, WC) are very small.
Please note that if the family rooms are utilised to their maximum occupancy the rooms can become cramped and storage space will be minimal.
