Hotel Plesnik is an Alpine hotel in the heart of the regional park, a small family boutique hotel with over 80 years of experience in the hotel industry. The history of the Hotel Plesnik reveals a story of family, love, tradition and a passion for socializing in one of Europe’s most beautiful Alpine valleys. Hotel Plesnik’s elm tree embodies their journey – it is one of the symbols of the Logar Valley and represents a bridge between the generations. The Plesnik family originally owned a hotel near to this one before the Second World War. The foundation of their project was a small post-war inn that was transformed into a new hotel between 1992 and 1994. It was the following year of 1995 that saw the grand opening and the hotel quickly became synonymous with the modern comfort and familiarity of a countryside house, as well as a boutique family hotel.
New renovations came in 2015/16 & 2018 and in carrying out the refurbishment the spirit of local tradition, the predominant feature is wood. As a whole, the renovated hotel rooms feel very elegant, with well thought-out lighting and original pieces that will be especially noticeable in the winter days.
32 renovated rooms, offering a comfortable stay for individuals, couples and families. All rooms are en suite with wifi, safe, minibar, cable TV, telephone, bathrobe and slippers and most rooms have balconies.
In the shadow of the hotel, but still covered with sunlight, slightly obscured by the treetops and yet with a strong presence is Villa Palenk (3*), which was renovated in 2018. It is a pleasant and comfortable outbuilding, built in the Alpine-style, connected with the hotel by a covered passage, which protects guests from all weathers. The villa offers a distinctly homely experience with 11 spacious rooms & a family apartment.
High quality food with fresh local products is an important value; covered with flowering meadows and green forests and away from everyday hustle and bustle, the Logar Valley is in culinary terms a challenge for every chef. However, they use as many local and organically grown ingredients and products from the surrounding idyllic mountain farms as possible, following local recipies.
The restaurant presents a mix of a la carte and buffet options and its large fireplace brings gentle warmth in the cold winter months. Opposite the restaurant is the Hunter's Room, a, alpine-style dining room with a cosy atmosphere. The spacious hotel terrace, with its enchanting views across the meadows to the Alps, is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a good cup of coffee.
Hotel Plesnik is the perfect choice for hiking but if you are feeling less active guests also have wellness options. The main central area has a large heated whirlpool and an area with comfortable recliners. Large panoramic windows provide good natural lighting and a stunning view of the meadow & alpine peaks with Ojstrica in the foreground. There are two smaller individual massage studios. One floor below are the steam rooms, Finnish and bio saunas. There is also a natural outdoor pool.
