Nira Caledonia

About Nira Caledonia

This characterful boutique hotel comprises two magnificent Georgian townhouses tucked away down a quiet cobbled street, yet it's just a short walk from Edinburgh's New Town & Princes Street. It is located in the vibrant area of Stockbridge, home to elegant terraced houses, local cafes, restaurants and popular delis.
Nira Caledonia Boutique Hotel is a quirky blend of architectural grandeur and modern interior design but with an easy going, homely feel. One reviewer commented that it was 'a kind of home from home but better’

Accommodation

Each of the 28 rooms is individually styled to enhance the building's heritage features and many offer views of the New Town. Rooms are bright and airy, some with floor-to-ceiling sash windows which flood the rooms with light. Each room is beautifully decorated in sophisticated shades of brown and cream with rich, eclectic furnishings and splashes of colour. The Jacuzzi Suites are the largest rooms - these feature a large Jacuzzi bathtub in the en-suite bathroom and views over New Town or gardens.

Suites are large, many with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the cobbled street of Gloucester Place, king size beds, and a large floor space with enough room for an extra bed.
Executive rooms feature an in-room seating area for guests to relax, a work desk and eclectic décor.
The Petit double and Petit double plus rooms have characterful furniture and exciting feature walls. Some rooms have uninterrupted views over the lovely gardens; others to the sandstone facades of Edinburgh’s world famous New Town.
There are also three single rooms at the hotel.

Facilities

The historic status of the buildings means that there is no lift, however porters are on hand to assist with luggage.
In the restaurant the emphasis is on providing the bounty of Scotland with locally sourced produce to reduce food miles. There's also a superb selection of single malt whisky in the bar.
