Itinerary

You'll be met in Thessaloniki * and then it's onwards to Vergina to visit the Royal burial cluster of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great). It's certainly one of the most impressive museums in this part of the country.

The afternoon is spent at one of the famous vineyards in the area- with wine tasting too, of course!

Dinner this evening will be taken at the popular “Thomas” restaurant/taverna. After dinner you'll head to Nymfaio & La Moara guesthouse, a member of 'Historic Hotels of Europe'.

* If you are not already in Thessaloniki & are coming over specially to do the tour then we will arrange for accommodation the night before the tour in the city.

After a delicious breakfast you'll learn a little of the history and culture of this lovely village. This afternoon there will be a visit to the Arcturos Environmental Sanctuary.

Your lunch break, consisting of a high quality Tsipouro (a strong distilled spirit, usually offered as an aperitif, and accompanied by olives, fresh onions, cucumbers and various local meze), is an old Greek tradition dating back to the 14th Century.

This afternoon there will be a VIP wine tasting at the Alpha estate, the biggest winery in Greece.

This evening's dinner will be at the renowned “Kontosoros” Restaurant/Taverna. Dinner here makes for a truly unforgettable tasting experience.

Following your return to La Moara there will be a chance to enjoy some traditional Greek music.

After breakfast and depending on the season there may be the opportunity to go truffle or mushroom foraging in the nearby forests. You'll explore the best ways to use them, learn how to cook a heavenly dish (and eat it, of course)!

This afternoon you'll visit Domaine Karanika which produces the finest quality sparkling wines in its organic/ biodynamic vineyards.

In the early evening there will be a visit to Naoumidis All Pepper (red pepper museum & processing plant). They produce a delicious variety of 12 unique recipes, based on the famous organically grown Florina pepper of the Naoumidis family.

Dinner will be at the Naoumidis Restaurant, which has been receiving the Golden Chef's hat Award since March 2016 in the catogory of classic Greek Cuisine.

After yet another superb breakfast it is time to say goodbye to your hosts and be taken to Thessaloniki Airport for your flight home.

Alternatively you may choose to extend your stay in the city of Thessaloniki for further exploration or relaxation.
